Enumerated Powers

Enumerated powers  are found in Article 1, Section 8 of the United States Constitution.  They are a list of specific powers that are granted to Congress. Congress may exercise only those powers that are granted to it by the Constitution, and limited by the Bill of Rights.

The Enumerated Powers Act is a bill sponsored by  John Shadegg, AZ that states,
"all bills introduced in the U.S. Congress include a statement setting forth the specific constitutional authority under which the law is being enacted. This measure will force a continual re-examination of the role of the national government, and will fundamentally alter the ever-expanding reach of the federal government."
