For Immediate Release

        Congressional candidate Mark DeVol is "strongly" urging Tennessee's attorney general to join the suit against the recent health care bill.

        DeVol, however, citing historical evidence as well as research by the Tenth Amendment Center, wants to go further.

        He said, "I strongly support the actions of the Tenth Amendment Center's Federal Health Care Nullification Act."

        He quoted a statement from the Center: "While lawsuits by State AGs have been getting considerable attention in the media, we at TAC feel that it would be a poor strategy to rely heavily on such efforts to stop the newly signed health care law. As Thomas Jefferson told us, whenever the federal government assumes powers not delegated to it, those acts are 'un-authoritative, void, and of no force' and that a 'nullification of the act is the rightful remedy.'

        "Nullification is not an act of going to federal politicians or federal judges to repeal an unconstitutional law. It's not about getting 'permission' to exercise our rights. It's about exercising them whether the federal government wants us to or not. It's taking action to make an unconstitutional act null and void right within your own state boundaries. In this spirit of American resistance, the Tenth Amendment Center is pleased to announce the release of our 'Federal Health Care Nullification Act."

        DeVol has posted the Tenth Amendment Center's, Federal Health Care Nullification Act at his Web site;
www.devol2010.com.

        DeVol, running for the Third District seat being vacated by Zach Wamp, said one way citizens can show their support for the Center's action is by "voting for the candidates for every office who themselves support the Tenth Amendment, who want to restore the Constitution to its place as the law of the land.

        As one of the first congressional candidates in Tennessee, and the first congressional candidate in the 3rd District to sign the Tenth Amendment Pledge, DeVol has indicated his commitment to preserve liberty, capitalism, and the great republic established by our founding fathers.

        Making his first run for public office, DeVol owns and operates DeVol Millwork in Andersonville.
